Thousands, perhaps millions pray each week for one thing--revival. People pray to God that he will send his Holy Spirit among his people, throughout this land, among all the peoples of the world, and revive the human spirit. We pray and we wait.
What if we prayed and stopped waiting. We are commissed to make disciples. Should we not use that commission in conjunction with our prayers?
Are we looking for revival to start in Washington D.C. or New York City? It could happen, but
why not here?
Are we waiting for our denomination to come up with a very specific and well funded plan of action for revival? These things do happen and can lead to great things done for the Kingdom of God, but what if we asked,
Why not here?
WHY NOT HERE?
Why not put the Body of Christ into motion wherever you are? If we keep looking for somebody to do something sometime we may be looking for a long time. Yes, God may choose to pour out his Spirit at anytime with or without any action on our part. But don't you think he wants to see the Body of Christ in motion when he does?
Let's consider some basic questions. Is your church looking inward or outward? Hopefully, it's both. We must continue to nurture those who have come to the cross. We must, however, not forget that we have a very important outwardly focused mission.
We are to reach the lost, feed the poor, and be God's love in action.
WHY NOT HERE?
The
One Month to Live challenge is one way to set the Body of Christ in motion. Done with a sincere desire to discover what an abundant life really is,
One Month to Live will be liberating.
There are other challenges, programs, and studies that might do the same, but this effort is underway and we ask that you consider joining it, even if only as an individual and even if you participate only online.
It only takes a spark to get a fire going. Why not here? Why not light that spark wherever you are an participate in the One Month to Live challenge as a church, individual, youth group, FCA project, or other organization.
This country needs a spark to kick off a revival.
